About UmmahAtlas
UmmahAtlas is a free atlas of Muslim history in maps, timelines and short chapters, from the Prophet's Madinah to the present day. It is written for students, families and anyone who wants the big picture without wading through a thousand pages first.
The site now covers 11 era maps, 111 battles, 117 rulers of six dynasties, 50 people and 38 glossary terms. The English edition comes first. Urdu and Arabic editions are being prepared.
How the maps are made
Frontiers are drawn from historical atlases and the narrative histories listed below, then laid over modern coastlines and country borders so you can place them. Pre-modern borders were rarely fixed lines, so treat every frontier as approximate.
